Laura Peterson is a New York City based dance artist creating work that challenges the limits physicality and redefines performance spaces. Laura’s work includes visually stunning installations that are developed simultaneously with the choreography. She has had residencies and commissions throughout New York City at HERE Arts Center, New York City River-to-River Festival, Judson Memorial Church, Queens Museum of Art with Topaz Arts, Dance New Amsterdam, Dixon Place and others.


Laura was a 2014 Fellow at the Bogliasco Foundation in Italy to create new work Il Futuro which premiered in 2015 at SOAK Festival at Cave in Brooklyn. Her dances have been performed at venues including The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out, Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors, and in Europe and South America. Laura has made dances for Hartford Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Drop Dance, and at universities throughout the US. She has taught at Princeton University, Rutgers University and Marymount Manhattan College and she holds an MFA in Dance from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, and a BFA from University of the Arts, Philadelphia.
