In-Sight Dance Company is a contemporary ballet company based in Queens, NY. Founded in 2008, In-Sight Dance fulfills its mission to raise the profile of dance in Queens while working to improve society through artistic collaborations and community partnerships. It is this two-fold mission that creates the unique dance organization that is In-Sight Dance.

The company’s two “millennial ballets” An Extraordinary Echo (2010) and Pleading Against Prophecy (2013) are 21st Century ballets created by GEN Y artists. An Extraordinary Echo is set to the premiere album of the Grammy Award winning band A Great Big World. Pleading Against Prophecy was created as a part of Jamaica Performing Arts Center’s Next Stage Dance Residency and is set to the music of critically acclaimed singer songwriter Jillette Johnson.

In-Sight Dance regularly creates site specific work and has performed at venues such as National Museum of Dance, Socrates Sculpture Park, and The Highline Ballroom.

In-Sight Dance Company’s connection with its community cultivates an environment where it can create innovative artistic work that is accessible.

In-Sight Dance envisions a world where diversity, in art and beyond, is encouraged, where inspiration abounds, and where respect for human dignity is demonstrated throughout the community.
