The Emergent Studio Program supports artists who have never had a studio or a residency with free space for 4 months to create, with a focus on artists of color, immigrant artists, LGBTQIA artists, and those living on modest incomes.

This new program, designed and curated by Artist-in-Residence Tanisha Christie, launches as part of Creative Economic Initiative, which provides technical assistance toward greater economic and financial viability to creatives growing their business endeavors.

Most of my fellow artists want to give back to their communities, but struggle to provide for themselves. This initiative allows individuals to nurture their creative practices and their communities simultaneously.

Community Partner Nfinit Foundation Arts will select artists to be a part of the program. Nfinit’s ethos centers the nurturing of artist process through the practice of love, care and community.
